WELCOME TO KIWI PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES

Kiwi Physiotherapy Services is a private physiotherapy provider servicing the Derwentside, Durham, Chester le Street and Rickleton areas of the North East of England.

Physiotherapy is provided at two centres:
- Kiwi Physiotherapy Clinic, 1 Front Street, Lanchester, Durham, DH7 0LA
- The Woodlands Surgery, Vigo Lane, Rickleton Village, Washington, NE38 9ET

All our Physiotherapists are registered with the Health Professions Council and Members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. We treat all manner of musculoskeletal problems. Back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint, muscle and tendon problems. Sprains, strains, arthritis and other degenerative conditions.

 
Practice Principal | Karen Raine MSc. BSc. MCSP
Karen specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has a particular interest in sports injuries.

Associate Physiotherapists

Kim Maria Roberts MCSP
Kim qualified as a physiotherapist in 1979 at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in the UK. She spent 18 years working in the NHS, eleven of these years were spent as a domiciliary physiotherapist working with patients in their own homes, residential care and day centres.

Kim joined our team at Kiwi in 1997 bringing with her a vast wealth of experience relating to neurological conditions and diseases of the elderly. In recent years she has updated her musculoskeletal skills and works mainly in this discipline.

Aileen Hunter MCSP
Aileen is our moving and handling consultant. She qualified in 1973 at The Royal Victoria Infirmary School of Physiotherapy, in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Following years working in the field of Neurology, she decided upon a career change, moving into the field of Manual Handling/Ergonomics.

Currently, in addition to her consultancy work for Kiwi, Aileen is Clinical Ergonomics Adviser for an NHS Trust in Gateshead and part time lecturer in Manual Handling at The University of Northumbria in Newcastle.

In 1982, Aileen graduated with a B.Ed and in 1997, she successfully completed an accredited course in the Neuromuscular Approach to Human Movement.
